Taw Fishing Club has arranged two bank days the first on the 14th February (10am to 1pm) parking just above Coldridge Bridge. The sole purpose of both bank days is to plant some 200+ tree whips on the vulnerable RHS bank areas on our waters between Coldridge and Brushford bridges.
As many of you will know, we have received in 2025 a Fisheries Improvement Grant (FIP) from the Environment Agency. This grant helps us maintain our waters including bank protection and improved river access. A condition of the cash grant is that Taw Fishing Club also provides significant volunteer labour resources for the supported project.
We need at least ten volunteers - and preferably more - for each of the two bank days to plant, protect and stake the 200+ tree whips including maple, hawthorn, blackthorn, alder, hornbeam. All volunteers need are rubber boots and a garden spade. All…
